Established in 1960 as a branch of the Barron County Library Service, the Turtle Lake Public Library has grown from an initial donation of 500 books to holdings of over 15,000 books and audiovisual materials and several thousand digital works on computer. The library participates in a shared automated system which provides access to an additional 200,000 + books and materials from other Barron and Rusk county libraries.
In addition, The library also has several
thousands electronic books on two public-access computers graciously
donated by the William and Melinda Gates Foundation. |
Whether you are a resident of the area or just passing through the village of Turtle Lake, the library staff and board members invite you to stop in and browse our collection. |

The library is an active member of the the consortium BCLiC and the Indianhead Federated Library System which provides Inter-Library Loan services to patrons who cannot locate the materials they wish to borrow from their local library. |
